On April 28, 2008, the plane where he was traveling to the island of Curaçao crashed within minutes of takeoff.

Jack Blaine

Sequoia president and CEO
President of Smartmatic Chief Executive Officer and a director of Sequoia Voting Systems Inc. Was a director for International Sales at Dominion Voting Systems Corporation.

Jack Blaine held multiple positions within Sequoia, Smartmatic, SVS Holding and Dominion Voting Systems. As president of Smartmatic, he worked with Antonio Mugica and Roger Piñate in all the strategies for the development and delivery of electoral products for 16 states within the United States. The relationship was not always amicable. In his affidavit of March 21, 2014, Blaine stated that “For all practical purposes, the only company other than Sequoia with which SVS had any significant involvement was Smartmatic.” Maintained business relationships with its former owner.

Arnao is the author of multiple patents from his time at Dominion Voting Systems.


Ronald Morales
Technology Integrator / Software Engineer

Responsible for the integration of legacy solutions from Smartmatic to Sequoia Voting Systems and later to Dominion, currently maintaining the WIN EDS based systems for the Chicago/ Cook County area.
Morales is responsible for the certification process of the Sequoia and Dominion product lines before the certifying units and the EAC.
Morales is a member of the team that developed the first version of the SAES software implemented for 13 years in the Venezuelan regime’s elections.


Edilmo Palencia

Responsible for the design, development of the hardware, firmware, and software of SAES and HAAT systems.
Leader of the development team for the Venezuela and Chicago elections.
Manage the development and QA Team in charge of the election solution for Venezuela, Brazil, Belgium, and the Philippines.

Carolyn Maloney
U.S. representative for New York’s 12th congressional district from 2013 to 2023 / representative for New York’s 14th congressional district from 1993 to 2013

Started the investigations by sending a letter to the Secretary of the Treasury outlining concerns about possible Venezuelan government investments in and acquisition of Smartmatic. She warned that Smartmatic’s possible connection to the Venezuelan government represents a potential national security risk due to the acquisition of Sequoia Voting Systems, whose electronic voting machines could be susceptible to manipulation.
