“Tarrant County’s two Democrats in the commissioners court slammed the Election Integrity Task Force on Tuesday, while 20 community members praised the idea during public comment,” KERA, the North Texas affiliate of National Public Radio, reports.

“Judge O’Hare’s Democratic colleagues on the Tarrant County Commissioners Court condemned the task force at a packed meeting,” according to KERA.

“Democratic Commissioner Alisa Simmons represents Precinct 2 in southeast Tarrant County. Twelve complaints don’t ‘necessitate a task force,’ she said.”

“When Simmons asked [Sheriff Bill] Waybourn for several actual voter fraud cases, not complaints, Waybourn answered with a question,” according to the report.

“’When you show up to vote, and they go, “Mrs. Simmons, you already voted,” and you say, “No I haven’t,” who do you go to?’ Waybourn said.”

Simmons replied, “I’m going to Heider Garcia’s office.”

1. Why would the county have an Election Integrity Task Force that local Democrats would oppose?

2. Why would it be a partisan issue to bring reports of fraud to one person, Heider Garcia, and not to a task force created by a judge, district attorney, and sheriff?
