Private electronic voting systems companies operate “largely free from federal oversight,” the Brennan Center for Justice notes in the introduction to its report, “A Framework for Vendor Oversight.”
The documented study says, “almost no federal regulation of the vendors that design and maintain the systems that allow us to determine who can vote, how they can vote, or how their votes are counted and reported.”
The Brennan Center offers ways to address these and other problems.

1. Did either the Trump-Pence or Biden-Harris administrations do anything to provide federal oversight of election vendor companies since 2019?
2. Did Congress?
3. Did any state? If so, which ones?
4. Did either political party?
