“President Obama’s made history on October 25, by becoming the first-ever incumbent president to cast an early vote. We are honored to emphasize that he voted using our technology,” Smartmatic says in a statement.
“As if conducting successful elections in Venezuela and Belgium, and providing various electoral services for the two rounds of the municipal elections in Brazil in the span of one month was not enough, Smartmatic, the world leader in the electoral automation industry, is also present at the 2012 US General Election,” according to Smartmatic.
Smartmatic illustrates the statement with a photo and video of President Barack Obama voting early on a Smartmatic machine.
“The state-of-the-art Edge2Plus Model 300 voting machine, designed and manufactured by Smartmatic, started being used in the city of Chicago and Cook County, IL, with the opening of early voting in many jurisdictions across the nation,” according to Smartmatic.
“The Edge2Plus Model 300 was developed in a joint collaboration with Cook County’s Accessibility Advisory Committee, representatives from the City of Chicago, and the Mayor’s Office. It is a highly auditable electronic voting machine that provides a Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), and fully complies with the recommendations and requirements set forth by HAVA (Help America Vote Act) and the Electoral Assistance Commission in terms of security, accuracy and enfranchisement of disabled voters,” Smartmatic says. 1. Did President Obama knew that the system he was using to vote in Chicago in 2012 was the very same system banned in the state of California in 2006 and investigated by CFIUS in that same year?
2. Did anyone on Obama’s national security team, or in the intelligence or counterintelligence community, notify the President that he was voting on compromised machines?
3. Why did Obama make a media event of himself casting his votes early on a Smartmatic/Dominion machine?
4. By 2012, Obama was a proponent of early voting, and used his October 25 vote as a prop to promote his advocacy. Is is possible that Obama was using that open advocacy to subtly push, or nudge, American voters toward accepting Smartmatic/Dominion technologies?
