Smartmatic CEO Antonio Mugica tells the US Embassy in Caracas that while its election machinery for American elections is “assembled” in New York, most of the company’s manufacturing is in China, according to a cable from Ambassador William Brownfield.
“Most of the manufacturing for their electoral and other electronic machinery was done in China, Mugica said, with some component work also done in Taiwan,” the cable says, but that the components for US elections are “assembled in New York.”
